Working together for bats and people

Bats are fascinating animals, appreciated and enjoyed by many thousands of people. Across Europe we are fortunate to have 45 different species. Globally, bats account for almost a fifth of all mammal species and play a crucial role in our natural environment.

Sadly, many of our European bat species are under threat, and some have already become extinct in certain countries. BatLife Europe believes that by working together, we can conserve bats and their habitats more effectively, for people to enjoy well into the future. We hope you enjoy exploring the rest of our website to find out more about these amazing creatures and how BatLife Europe is aiming to help.
